In Girls Explore Science camp this week, we put our creative problem-solving skills to work, performing a variety of experiments and testing designs over and over again. We were engineers, using science and technology to design solutions to problems.

On Wednesday, we were faced with the problem of figuring out a way to carry our LEGO figures over a mountain using up to 10 helium balloons without crashing into it! Using teamwork, we designed, tested and redesigned over and over again until finally, SUCCESS! We learned that engineers must expand their thinking, become more innovative and most importantly, learn from their mistakes!

Do you enjoy problem-solving using science, math and technology? Check out Design Squad for more design projects like this one, where you have to build your own boat that can paddle itself across a container of water. Good luck!
