To educate the public about a newsworthy event, it is important that we have reporters. Reporters are people who find out newsworthy information by traveling to locations where a story has taken place and by interviewing people involved with that story. Then the reporters take the information and either write it down for the public to read or tell the public what has happened.
You probably know that adults can be reporters, but did you know that kids can be reporters, too?
The upcoming presidential election on November 4th is a very newsworthy event. The Time for Kids website asked two kids, Alex and Machaela, to report about their experiences at the Democratic and Republican National Conventions! Go here to read about their experiences!
